Ms. Ryno, has
actively been involved in the health care industry since 1952
and is currently an independent consultant, educator and
lecturer providing coding, billing and reimbursement training to
physicians and billing faculties.
She was an Occupational Therapist in the United Sates Army Medical Corp
stationed at Valley Forge Army Hospital and Walker Reed Medical Center. She
also directed OT programs for the State of California and Children's Hospital
in San Diego. As a certified medical assistant, Ms. Ryno worked for 13 years
as an office manager in large cardiovascular and thoracic surgery practice
dealing with accounts receivable management, staffing and training issues,
Third Party Payers, indemnity and Managed Care Insurance, Medicare, Champus,
and Medical.
Additionally, Ms. Ryno served as a physician coding support resource and
trainer for a large anesthesia group and a medical billing company for anesthesia
and surgery for 8 years, and is currently retained by two local billing companies
for coding support and physician and staff training provided by a Certified
Professional Coder.
Moreover, Ms. Ryno is a Credentialed Adult Education Instructor and has taught
Medical Reception/Insurance, Coding, and Medical Terminology in the Grossmont
School District Adult Education Program since 1981.
Ms. Ryno is also an approved PMCC instructor for the American Academy of Professional
Coders (AAPC) and is employed by Procedural Coders Institute to teach certification
review classes to AAPC certification candidates as the University of California, Los
Angeles (UCLA) and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). In addition, she
is also a team teacher for UCSD Extension Class - Complete Coding for the Physician's
Office. She also functions as the Guest Lecturer for the Symposia presented by the
Procedural Coders Institute, which provides individual coding and billing seminars
for physicians and their office staff as well as billing company and physician clients.
